                              Spells and Bells

   Amount  Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method

    1      package       active dry yeast
      1/4  cup           warm water -- 110 degrees
    2                    eggs
    1      cup           whipping cream
    1      teaspoon      vanilla
      1/3  cup           sugar
    3 1/2  cups          flour
    1      tablespoon    baking powder
    1      tablespoon    salt
 
 In mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Beat eggs, cream, vanilla and sug
 ar together until mixture is light and fluffy. Stir in yeast. Blend dry ingredi
 ents; mix in until dough is soft and can be handled easily for rolling. Divide 
 in half. Roll out both halves 1/3 thick on floured board. Cut with Christmas c
 ooky cutters (star, bell, tree, etc.) Fry in deep fat heated to 375 until brown
 . Drain on absorbent paper. Serve plain, sugared or glazed.
