James & Jo Ann’s Christmas Tree Spritz
 1/2 cup Crisco
 1/2 cup Butter
 3/4 cup sugar
 1 large egg, slightly beaten
 2 1/2 cups flour
 1/2 teaspoon salt
 1 teaspoon lemon extract
 Paste coloring (optional)
 Colored sugar
 Silver dragees
 Pre-heat oven to 425F.
 Combine salt and flour together.
 Cream sugar with butter and crisco.  Add lemon extract and food coloring. 
 Add egg and blend well.
 Add dry ingredients a little at a time.
 Chill for about an hour if dough is too soft.  Fill cookie shooter according to
 directions.  Press out shapes as desired and decorate with colored sugar, etc.
 Bake one sheet at a time for 8 - 10 minutes. Cookies should be slightly 
 browned.  Remove carefully and cool on rack. 
 This recipe can be doubled.
