                          Apple Cranberry Muffins

    1 3/4  c             All purpose flour 
      1/4  c             Sugar 
    1 1/2  tsp           Baking powder 
      1/2  tsp           Baking soda 
      1/2  tsp           Salt 
    1                    Egg 
      3/4  c             Milk 
      3/4  c             Sweetened applesauce 
      1/4  c             Butter or margarine -- melted 
    1      c             Fresh cranberries -- coarsely 
 					 
    2      tsp           All purpose flour -- (for 
 					 
                         -----TOPPING----- 
      1/4  c             Sugar 
      1/2  tsp           Ground cinnamon 
  
 In medium bowl, combine 1 3/4 cups of flour, 1/4 cup sugar, the baking
 powder, baking soda and salt.   In small bowl, combine egg, milk,
 applesauce and butter, mix well.  Add egg mixture to flour mixture,
 stirring just until moistened.  Batter will be lumpy.  In small bowl, toss
 cranberries with 2 tb flour, fold into batter. 
  
   
  Spoon batter into 12 greased 2 1/2 inch muffin cups. 
  
  In another small bowl, combine 1/4 cup sugar and the cinnamon. 
 Sprinkle over muffins.  Bake in preheated 400 oven 20-25 mins or until
 wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. 
  
  Remove from pan; cool on wire rack.
