                               BOILED CUSTARD

      3/4  cup           sugar
    2      tablespoons   cornstarch
      1/2  teaspoon      salt
    2                    eggs
    1      quart         sweet milk
    2      teaspoons     vanilla
 
 Mix sugar, cornstarch, salt in top of double broiler over medium heat.  Add
 beaten eggs and mix well.  Stir in milk gradually, until thick.  Heat to
 boiling point, do not boil.  Remove from heat and add vanilla.
