                           Semi-Sweet Sugar Balls

    1      package       chocolate chips -- <12 oz>
    3      tablespoons   white corn syrup
    1      cup           orange juice
    2 1/2  cups          vanilla wafer cookies -- crushed
    1      cup           nutmeats <English walnuts or pecans> -- finely chopped
 
 
 Melt chocolate chips over hot water. Remove from heat and add white corn
 syrup and orange juice.
 
 Combine vanilla wafers, powdered sugar and nuts. Add the chocolate/orange
 mixture and mix well.  Let stand about 30 minutes.
 
 Form into 1 balls.  Roll in powdered sugar.  Let “ripen” several days in a
 covered container (or out in the garage if you live where it’s cold and
 have no room in the fridge.)
