       Title: VINEGAR CANDY

       Yield: 10 Servings
  
       2 c  Sugar
     1/2 ts Vinegar
       2 tb Butter
  
   Put into kettle; when melted, add sugar & vinegar. Stir until sugar is
   disolved, afterwards occasionally. Boil until when tried in cold water,
   mixture will become brittle. <<Must be hard-ball stage>>. Turn on a
   buttered platter to cool <<Not glass!>> <Probably had metal anyway back
   then <G> Pull & cut same as mollases candy. Source: Boston Cooking-School,
