                              Chocolate Bananas

    10                    wooden popsicle sticks
    5                     firm bananas
    1                cup  chocolate chips
    3        tablespoons  unsalted butter or margarine
 
 Peel the bananas; cut each crosswise: 10 halves.
 
 Insert sticks in cut ends of bananas.  Freeze at least 2 hours.
 
 Just before serving, place chips and butter in small mixing bowl. 
 Gently melt: microwave at 50% (medium) 2 to 4 minutes, or until most of the chi
 ps are shiny and soft; blend well. 
 
 Dip frozen bananas in chocolate to coat or spoon chocolate over bananas, allowi
 ng excess to drip off. Serve immediately. 
 
 Wrap and freeze extras.
