      3/4  c             celery -- chopped
      1/2  c             green pepper -- chopped
    1      clove         garlic -- minced
      1/4  tsp           ground pepper
      1/4  tsp           chili powder
           few drops     tabasco sauce -- to taste
    2      c             vegetable broth
   16      ozs           refried beans
                         tortilla chips -- optional
                         cheddar cheese, shredded -- optional
 
 Saute vegetables until tender. Add spices, broth, and refried beans. Heat
through. Top with chips or cheese if desired.
