                           Green Chilies and Rice

    4      cups          rice -- cooked
    1 1/2  pints         sour cream
    2      cans          green chile -- chopped
                         salt and pepper -- to taste
      1/2  pound         monterey jack cheese -- sliced
      1/2  cup           cheddar cheese -- shredded
 
 In a large casserole dish, layer rice, sour cream, chilies, salt, pepper,
 and Monterey Jack.  Repeat layers 2 more times. Omit Monterey Jack from top
 layer.  Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 mins.  Sprinkle cheddar cheese on
 top for the last 5 mins. of baking.
