                      Black Eyed Peas The New Way (Hl)

    2      cups          black eyed peas
    6      cups          water
    2      teaspoons     cayenne pepper
    1      teaspoon      black pepper
      1/2  teaspoon      yellow onion
    1                    red pepper
                         salt -- to taste
    1      teaspoon      garlic powder
 
 Bring peas to a very low boil. Add all ingredients and cook for 1 hour.
 Salt and pepper to taste.
 
 Yield: 6 servings
