                            Asparagus Casserole

    2      Tbsp.         butter
    2      Tbsp.         all-purpose flour
    2      Tbsp.         asparagus liquid
    1      C.            cream
      1/2  Tsp.          salt
      1/2  Tsp.          pepper
    1      Dash          paprika
      1/2  C.            shredded cheese
    1      Can           mushrooms -- (3 oz.)
    2      Cans          asparagus -- (14 1/2 oz.)
                         cracker crumbs
 
 Melt butter; add flour, stirring constantly. Add cream
 and stir until thick. Add salt, pepper and paprika. Add
 cheese; stir until melted. Add mushrooms. Line bottom of 1
 1/2 quart casserole with 1 can drained asparagus. Cover with
 sauce. Add second can of asparagus and cracker crumbs. Bake
 at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Yield 6 servings.
