    6      cups          skim milk
    3/4    cup           sugar
    1      pinch         salt
    1      Tbl.          vanilla
                         Mix everything except the vanilla in a
                         (non-stick!) pot. Heat until just
    1      short         boiling -- stirring
                         constantly. Reduce heat, cover, and
                         simmer 1
                         hour -- stirring
                         occasionally.
