    8      quarts        salt
   16      tablespoons   pepper
   16      tablespoons   white sugar
 
 This enough for 8 hams
 mix ingredients well.  Rub each ham with mixture.  Be sure to put some into
 the shank bone.  Wrap in brown paper and place in cloth bag.  Hang with shank
 down.
