                             Fresh Tomato Sauce

    4      cups          tomatoes -- peel, seed, dice
    1      medium        onion -- minced
    1 1/2  teaspoons     basil
    1      teaspoon      sugar
    1      6 oz can      tomato paste
    3      cloves        garlic -- crushed
 
 Combine all ingredients in lightly oiled Crock-Pot.  Cover and cook on Low for 
 6 to 12 hours or on High for 4 hours.  If a thicker sauce is desired, remove co
 ver and cook on High until sauce is reduced.
 
 This is good used in ahy recipe calling for tomato sauce.
 
 Makes about 5 cups.  Double recipe for 5-quart Crock-Pot.
