                     Mushroom and bacon sauce for pasta

   30      grams         butter
    1                    onion -- peeled and chopped
    1      clove         garlic -- peeled and crushed
    4      rashers       bacon -- trimmed and chopped
  185      grams         button mushrooms -- sliced
    2      tablespoons   flour
    1      cup           milk
      1/4  cup           cream
    1      tablespoon    fresh parsley -- chopped
                         freshly ground black pepper
 
 Melt butter in frying pan over a medium heat. Add onion and garlic and
 cook, stirring, for 3 minutes, or until onion is golden.
 Stir in bacon and cook, stirring, for 5 minutes, or until bacon is crisp.
 Add mushrooms and cook, stirring, for 3 minutes or until mushrooms are tender.
 Blend in flour and cook for 1 minute.
 Remove pan from heat, and gradually stir in milk and cream. return to heat
 and cook, stirring constantly, until sauce boils and thickens. stir in
 parsley and black pepper and serve over pasta.
