                              White Clam Sauce

      1/4  Cup           Butter
      1/4  Cup           Olive oil
    2      Cloves        Garlic -- minced
    2      Tablespoons   Shallots -- finely chopped
    1      Cup           Clam juice
    1      Cup           Clams -- minced
      1/4  Cup           Parsley -- finely chopped
 
 In a saucepan heat the olive oil and butter and in it saute the garlic
 and shallots until the shallots are golden.  Add the clam juice and
 simmer for 5 minutes.  Stir in the clams and parsley and bring the
 mixture to a boil.
