      1/4  cup           butter, melted
    1      cup           broen sugar
      1/2  cup           flour
      1/2  cup           nuts
    1      teaspoon      baking powder
      1/2  teaspoon      salt
      1/2  teaspoon      vanilla
    1      large         egg
 
 Melt nutter and sugar. Cool. Add remaining ingredients. Spread  onto well
 greased 8x8x2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350*F   for 15 to 18 minutes. 
 Cut while warm. Serves 4-6.
