       Title: Fruited Mocha Layer Cake

       Yield: 1 servings
  
       2 c  Cake flour; sifted
       3 tb Cocoa
   2 1/4 ts Salt
     1/2 c  Butter or shortening
       1 c  Sugar
       1    Egg; well beaten
     3/4 c  Coffee; strong
       1 ts Vanilla
            Filling and topping:
       2 tb Confectioner’s sugar
       1 c  Whipped cream
     1/2 c  Dates or finely cut raisins
     1/2 c  Nut meats; broken
  
   Sift flour once, measure, add cocoa, baking powder and salt
   and sift together three times. Cream butter thoroughly, add
   sugar gradually, and cream together until light and fluffy;
   then beat in egg. Add flour, alternately with coffee, a
   small amount at a time, beating after each addition until
   smooth. Add vanilla.
   Bake in two greased 9 inch layer pans in moderate oven, 375
   deg. F., 30 minutes. Cool. Add confectioners' sugar to
   whipped cream, mixing until blended. Fold dates and nut
   meats into whipped cream.
   Spread between layers of cake. Sift confectioners' sugar
   over top of cake.
