       Yield: 50 Candies
       1 c  Light corn syrup
       3 c  Sugar
     1/2 c  Water
     1/4 ts Salt
       2    Egg whites
       1 ts Vanilla
       1 c  Chopped nuts/candy cherries
   Combine syrup, sugar, water and salt in a 3 quart pan.
    Cook to hard ball stage (260 degrees).  Beat egg whites in large mixing
   bowl until stiff. Gradually beat in boiling syrup. Add vanilla and continue
   beating until mixture will hold its shape when dropped from spoon. Add nuts
   or candied cherries.  Drop from teaspoon onto waxed paper.
