* Exported from MasterCook * Banana Shortcake Recipe By : Journal Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 9x5-inch baked angel food, sponge or pound cake 1 1/2 cups whipping cream,whipped 3 1/2 tablespoons sugar 3 medium ripe bananas banana sauce (see recipe) prepared hot fudge sauce Slice cake lengthwise into 2 layers. Place 1 layer on serving platter. Stir together whipped cream and sugar to taste in large bowl. Spread some cream generously over first cake layer. Peel and slice bananas horizontally and arrange them in single layer over cream. Spread more cream to cover bananas. Top with second cake layer. Frost top and sides of cake with remaining cream. To serve cake, arrange some sliced bananas over top of cake.Slice cake crosswise into 6 pieces. Place each cake piece cut side down on plate.
